I won!

What a wild weekend. I attended the ACM West conference (Alliance for Community Media) in San Jose, and met some amazing people, learned some great information, and won the WAVE Award for my TV show in the Instructional Programming category! It was so exciting.

Healthy Art Program: I've been accepted!

Last month, I applied to participate in the Healthy Art Program, here in San Jose, and I just found out that I made it in! There are many aspects to the The Healthy Art Program.

  • This program is for those seeking a change in their art practice to become more environmentally resilient and to lower the carbon footprint of art practice.
  • The Art Inspector works with the artist to identify substitutes for material use. Materials introduced by the art inspector are verified and inspected.
  • The Art Inspector will evaluate the work space in order to reduce the carbon footprint or to find ways to offset carbon contribution.
  • Art Inspector offers quarterly workshops for groups of artists to learn about alternative methods to their art practice.
I am so excited to be a part of this program. I'll be documenting the process for a future episode of the show! Stay tuned...

The Word is Spreading...

I recently posted episodes of my program on a website called PEG Media, which is a central place for public access stations across the country to access programs like mine, then broadcast them to their local audience. So far, I've had over 100 downloads, and the show is being broadcast in 15 states. Thing is, there is a small fee for the stations when they download an episode, so I'm trying to raise funds so that more stations can have access, since most don't have much of a budget (I DO NOT receive any of this money, it is what the PEG Media website charges for providing this service.)

Living the Dream!

Back Story for Lori Krein's Art Studio TV Show
Three years ago, I was watching TV and noticed an ad on the public access station that said:
"Want to produce your own TV show? Call us!"

So, I did. Now, after producing over 30 episodes, I am more determined than ever to share my passion for art and creative expression with the world.

Not only is the program being broadcast here in the San Jose area, but it's now being seen in over 15 states!

I had a vision, and seeing the vision come to life has been simply amazing. Sharing this experience with my son, Jason, who does all the technical work on the show, has made it even sweeter.
