Living the Dream!

Back Story for Lori Krein's Art Studio TV Show

Three years ago, I was watching TV and noticed an ad on the public access station that said:
"Want to produce your own TV show? Call us!"

So, I did. Now, after producing over 30 episodes, I am more determined than ever to share my passion for art and creative expression with the world.

Not only is the program being broadcast here in the San Jose area, but it's now being seen in over 15 states!

I had a vision, and seeing the vision come to life has been simply amazing. Sharing this experience with my son, Jason, who does all the technical work on the show, has made it even sweeter.

Next, I am trying to raise funds to:
1. Produce additional episodes
2. Provide funding to public access stations across the country so they can broadcast the show.

The program airs weekly on San Jose Comcast Channel 15 on Thursday nights, 6PM.

What's it about? It's all about collage! The program is formatted like a cooking show...but instead of eating the results, you get to hang them on your wall.

I talk about how to make collage, assemblage, hand-made paper, decoupage, and much more. Sometimes I interview local artists.

Don't live in San Jose, or don't have Comcast? No worries! You can also watch streaming video on the CreaTV Website, where the show is produced.

At 6pm (pacific time) on Thursday nights, go to http://www.creatvsj.org/ then simply click on Watch Live for Channel 15.

Call for Artists: Inside the Artist's Studio

I’m looking for three Santa Clara County-based artists, who will be featured on an episode of my award-winning public access TV program. I’ll come to your studio…where we’ll chat about your art and your creative process. The show airs on Thursday nights at 6PM on San Jose Comcast Channel 15 and possibly up to 30 additional stations across the country.

ENTRY FEE: $20
Entry is by email link to Youtube, Vimeo, or other internet video hosting website.

DEADLINE: December 10, 2011
Selected artists will be notified on or before December 20th, 2011

Instructions
1. Read complete prospectus HERE
2. Create a video. Post the video on YouTube, Vimeo, or any other or other internet video hosting website
3. Email the link to the video Lorikrein@gmail.com
4. Include your full name, email address, phone number, and mailing address inside the email.
5. Submit the $20 jury fee by clicking on the "Call for Artists" payment button (see above) Entry fee is non-refundable. Payment of entry fee indicates that you have read and agreed to the complete prospectus .

Video Specifications
Make a video, less than three minutes long. Show me your studio, artwork, and yourself, talking about your artwork. What inspires you? How did you get started? What keeps you going? Don’t worry about production quality, I’m not looking for a slick video, but it is important for me to HEAR what you have to say, so speak up. I look forward to seeing your videos!

Each time a station uploads the show, it costs .66 cents. Each dollar you donate allows more than one episode to be uploaded and viewed. Thanks for your support.
